Health Monitoring Cat Litter FAQ

Yes, our litter is ideal for multi-cat homes. If an unusual color change continues for more than 2 days, we recommend using separate litter boxes to help identify which cat may need attention and consult your veterinarian promptly.

While mixing can still maintain excellent odor control and absorption, it can interfere with the color-change feature and affect health monitoring results. Once your cat adapts to our litter, we do not recommend mixing it with other types.

The color change may appear soon after contact with urine and will fade over time. We recommended checking within 12–24 hours after your cat urinates. If you notice a change outside the baseline range, take a photo immediately and continue monitoring

Not necessarily. Many factors can affect urine pH, including diet, hydration, and stress. If the unusual color change continues for more than 2 days, please reach out to your veterinarian for guidance, as they can best assess your cat’s health.

Our crystal litter is highly absorbent. Stirring helps urine contact all crystals evenly, allowing maximum water absorption and odor control. It also makes the color-change indicator clearer, helping support more accurate health monitoring.

Convenient and informative

I like to use silica gel litter as my litter box is in the bathroom and clay litter tends to track outside the shower leaving a mess. This is dust and odor free with minimal tracking. Although, the crystals are lighter and smaller than I like, they are easy to clean if they get kicked out of the box and do not get stuck in my cat's paws.
The large package contains 4 resealable bags. I initially used a full bag for my large litter box, creating a 2 inch level as recommended. I think next time, only half the amount will be needed as my cat is a digger and tends to push a lot out.
Although it is not a clumping litter, I find the urine can be removed in a pile if caught right away. If not, it is quickly absorbed by the litter and completely dissolves after a quick stir. Any solid waste piles are easily removed with a litter scoop. Despite the urine not being removed, there is no odor!
My cat had no reservations with the new litter and immediately entered the box.
The color changing option is an excellent feature as it alerts me to any potential problems that would require further veterinary evaluation. Luckily, the litter has consistently been the desired dark yellow, putting me at ease. It does tend to get a little darker as time goes on due to the increase in urine getting absorbed. At that point, it's time to replace, usually between 3 to 4 weeks.
This litter provides a quick option for cleaning, is a good value due to how long the bags will last and can predict potential health issues.

Decent odor control, but tracks everywhere

For my one cat, the four bags that come in this package will certainly last the 3 months.

I have noticed better odor control compared to my usual store bought clay litter. Dust does not appear to be an issue.

The Health Monitoring version I got tracks EVERYWHERE. The crystals are very small, which is why it tracks so much.

I can't comment on the color changing as I did not notice anything - however, I think that is a good thing?

My cat did not have any aversion to the litter, which is great. I would consider purchasing the LMJP Health Monitoring cat litter again.

Great Odor Control and Low Tracking

This litter has been a great fit for my home, especially since I need strong odor control in a smaller space. It has done a very good job keeping smells contained, and I appreciate that it works well with our automatic litter box. The color-changing health indicators are easy to see which makes tracking our pets’ health much easier and convenient; changes would be obvious at a glance. It is very low tracking too, which helps keep the litter area much cleaner and tidier. I’m pretty happy with this order and plan to order again

Outstanding Odor Control and Peace of Mind for My Cat’s Health

I’ve been using LMJP Health Monitoring Cat Litter — Super Odor Control, Color Changing for Early UTI Detection for a few weeks now, and I’m genuinely impressed. From the first use, I noticed how well it handles odor—there’s no lingering smell in the litter area, even with a multi-cat household.

The color-changing feature gives me real reassurance. It’s subtle but effective, and it helps me feel more aware of any potential urinary health concerns early on without any extra stress or complicated steps. That alone has made a big difference in how confident I feel about my cats’ well-being.

I also appreciate how clean it stays. The low dust and minimal tracking mean I’m not constantly sweeping around the box or dealing with clouds when I refill it. The micro silica crystals feel efficient and long-lasting, and the unscented formula is perfect for sensitive cats (and humans).

Overall, this has been one of the most practical and reassuring litter options I’ve used. It keeps things clean, controls odor extremely well, and adds a helpful layer of health monitoring that I didn’t know I needed until now.

Health Monitoring Cat Litter

This Health Monitoring Cat Litter is an interesting concept and comes with four 4.3 lb bags, which is advertised as a 3-month supply. With my two cats, however, it didn’t last quite that long. I do like the idea of health monitoring through color changes, but in my case I only noticed one consistent color, which suggests my cats didn’t have any detectable issues. The litter itself works fine for odor control and absorption, and it seems to do its job well overall. My main complaint is the crystal size—they are very small, and they tend to track easily outside the litter box, which creates a bit of a mess around the area. Larger crystals would definitely improve usability. Still, it’s a useful product with an interesting health feature.

Smart litter for health and odor control!

This cat litter is a game changer for pet owners concerned about their cat's health. It effectively controls odors and changes color for early UTI detection, which gives me peace of mind.

The low dust and tracking features are a plus, keeping my home cleaner than other litters I've tried. Overall, it's a solid choice for those looking for a reliable, health-monitoring option.

Health monitoring Cat litter

Good quality cat litter that held up a couple weeks with regular stirring for my two cats. I have tall, long cats so I use a large box. At first I used one bag so it was only like an inch deep and that seemed to clump up a bit rather than absorb. So I added a second bag so the litter was deeper and that worked much better for my cat box size and my cats. Then I just removed the solids daily and stirred the litter. It held up for just over two weeks before it started clumping up rather than absorbing the urine and I started to be able to smell the urine. It also would show a darker yellow where they peed but once stirred would go back to the lighter yellow color. After about two weeks the urine areas started turning a more blue/green color so I assumed it was getting too saturated. That is when I figured it was time to change it out. Once dumped and refilled the spots my cat had peed were that darker yellow again rather than the blue/green I had seen the last couple days. I mention that since I don’t want someone to assume there is something wrong with their cat and rush them to the vet when it’s possible the litter has just been in use too long. So if you see that, change it out first before getting worried.
It was easy to scoop out the solids and clean out the box as it didn’t get overly sticky to the sides or bottom of the box like a lot of the clumping cat litters do. Overall I was satisfied with the product and both my cats took to it immediately. The picture shows after just over a week of use once I gave it a stir, looks brand new again. Unfortunately I can’t comment on the accuracy of the color changing diagnostics since both my cats are luckily very healthy.

works great!

works just as well as pretty litter. i use big boxes (i have a maine coon and a bengal), so one bag isnt quite enough to fill one. but having four boxes in my home, i was happy to find a cheaper alternative to pretty litter that didnt track dust everywhere.

Excellent Fine Grained Crystal Litter With Health Monitoring Benefits

I only use crystal litter inside my automatic robotic litter box (Petkit PuraMax and Purobox Max). This one is really nice. The fine texture is like sand and seems soft and comfortable for my cats paws. The bottom of the litter box also doesn't get stained with urine as much compared to when we use the coarser crystal litter. The little emits no noticeable odor, even up to 1 month of use any when it looks visibly soiled (yellow). The crystals that stick to the cat waste and end up in the collection bin, continue to dessicate and dry out the waste. This keeps things as pleasant as possible when it's time to empty and change out the liner.

The health monitoring is nice but doesn't really work with the robot litterbox because it cleans automatically minutes after the cat uses it, I rarely catch it in time to see the colors. This was the same when I was using Pretty Litter.

One box comes with 4 bags of litter. I use and 1 bag plus another 1/3 to fill the bottom to the minimum litter line. One box will last me about 3 months, making this a great value!

Good but very fine litter that got tracked around

Gave me peace of mind knowing that the litter would tell me if my cat was having a UTI or other issue. I liked it better than she did. Very fine litter, which she did track it around a bit

Light weight but amazing kitty litter

It took me a while to write this as I wanted to make sure I had a thorough review.

The size of the crystals are very very small and unfortunately they do track and cause a mess a good bit. Mind you my cat box is a covered box hidden in a custom bench that has rug to try and catch what it can.

In my opinion the value of money for this is there, I have one cat and scoop the box twice a day and have very little to no odor. I have a very small cat and am able to to get away with changing his box completely once a month. ( I have a stainless steel cat box and I use an enzyme cleaner )

Absorbency I’d say is very good, when my boy goes a lot I’m sometimes able to just scoop those clumps out and stir it like normal. (This is dusty btw in my opinion)

Lastly I have not seen any color change in the crystals personally so if you using for health tracking be careful.

Odor free and minimal tracking

This litter locks odor in the crystals. The crystals can be scooped once soiled or if the clump doesn’t stay firmed the crystals can be mixed about yo disseminate odors. The colors allow you to monitor potential urination problems. Long lasting litter. Lasts for 2-3 weeks with upkeep. Ample amount of litter to last at least a month. Very good deal at the price.

No News

Is good news though. I've used this and the other LMJP crystals for two boxes, the standard and the color changing. So far, no news is good news. This litter isn't as dusty as the standard and about 10x less dusty than clay litters. It doesn't track out much and I've got multiple litter catching rugs/mats outside. The odor control for this cat is easier than the other cat but this seems to do a good job of odor control. No news is good news, probably going to stick with 'standard' ones and swap this litter if I suspect anything is wrong with our fur babies health.

A good choice, the only improvement is maybe a card with the litter as a quick reference, but you can always go back and view the back of the bag. A great litter worth throwing away :)

Interesting Health-Monitoring Cat Litter That Seems to Work

I ordered this health-monitoring cat litter for my son because I’m actually allergic to cats, and when I visit him, one of the biggest things for me is odor control. I was intrigued by the color-changing pH detection feature as well, especially for people with senior cats or cats that may be prone to urinary issues. The concept is honestly pretty smart. The litter is designed to change color to help alert you to possible urinary concerns early, and I appreciate anything that encourages pet owners to pay attention before a problem becomes serious. I also like that it’s unscented and low dust because heavily perfumed litter can sometimes be overwhelming for both cats and humans.

This is a non-clumping micro silica crystal litter, so it works differently than traditional clay litter. It absorbs urine quickly and does a surprisingly good job controlling odor without masking it with fragrance. In fact, the smell in his home has definitely improved since switching to this, which matters a lot to me given my allergies and sensitivity to pet odors. The crystals are lightweight and easy to pour, and I appreciate that it comes packaged in four separate bags because that makes it much easier to handle and store versus dealing with one giant container. The low-tracking claim seems fairly accurate so far too, which is always appreciated because nobody wants crunchy litter tracked across the house.

At around $43 for the 17.2 lb four-pack, it is definitely more of a premium litter option, but considering the monitoring feature plus the odor control and convenience, I can understand the pricing better than I initially expected. I would note, however, that while the listing states one bag can last up to three weeks, I think that estimate is probably more realistic for a single-cat household. If you have multiple cats, expect to go through it more quickly. Overall, though, this is an interesting product that brings something genuinely different to the litter category, and so far it seems to work as described. Five stars.

Good product

As someone who has used crystal litter for years, I actually really liked the texture of this one. The crystals are finer than some other brands, and I personally prefer that feel and consistency.

What makes this product stand out is the health-monitoring aspect. The litter starts out white and changes color based on your cat’s urine, which gives you a visual way to monitor potential health concerns. When my cats used it, their readings showed as healthy, and I liked the added peace of mind that gave me.

I did some comparison shopping, and at roughly $2.50 per pound, this is actually less expensive than many crystal litters, which often average closer to $3.50 per pound. So while it initially looks pricey, it’s more reasonable when compared specifically to other crystal-based litters.

As far as odor control, I thought it was about average compared to other crystal litters I’ve used. It wasn’t bad, but I also wouldn’t say it dramatically outperformed other brands in that area.

That said, I personally probably wouldn’t use this as my full-time everyday litter unless I had a cat with ongoing health concerns. For me, this feels especially useful during periods when I want to monitor a cat more closely—like if one seems off, isn’t drinking enough water, or I’m concerned about urinary or kidney issues.

I actually think this would be especially valuable for older cats or cats that primarily eat dry food, since those cats can sometimes be more prone to hydration-related urinary concerns.

Overall, I think this is a thoughtful product that combines good crystal litter quality with a genuinely useful monitoring feature.

A Solution for Even the Pickiest Kitty

During this past summer I started fostering a very (sadly mostly neglected) cat that had lost both "parents". It was a dreadful transition to find any type of litter they would even tolerate...

For sime reason, this pickiest of kitties instantly to to this litter like nothing else!! I couldn't believe it!

I ordered some for a friend (similar issues as they run a cat rescue program) - no kidding, ALL cats love it!!

Impossible to explain, yet spraying issues and general arrirudw issues decreased within 1 week of use.

Quite frankly, of tpu habe a picky kitty (especially male cat as they are prone urinary tract issues if they don't 'agreed with the litter) - please give this brand a solid buy.

And while a bit more expensive there is more longevity with diligence cleaning making it quite on par with most most standard litters price wise...

Lasts longer than "regular litter", no odor, peace of mind

I have to admit that (because I have always used clay, clumping litter- which I don't love as it is messy and does need to be changed often)), this product initially seemed very expensive to me and I was worried about odor, but I am really impressed with this litter for many reasons, and that includes the price. Using this has really dispelled my doubts and made me a believer.

This litter is so much neater than what I am used to, and while this didn't seem like much litter, this goes way farther than I thought because it lasts much longer than clay litter. It does not need to be changed as often and it truly doesn't have an odor, despite not clumping. You remove the solid waste and just sort of stir it around and the urine soaks in, without leaving any odor. My cats had no issues with the change, in fact they seem to like this litter better (we have three floors and a litter box on all three levels, I just used this downstairs so I could observe) They started using the downstairs box more often than the others. This comes with clear directions for use and a color key to guide you as to what the possible color changes mean. There was no dust and no tracking. One of our cats has recently been at times going outside the box, so it was good to see the color change and know whether or not a vet visit was in order. One of our cats is older, and especially for her, it is nice to be able to see that her urinary health is ok. (In our experience, while dogs often let you know they are sick, cats are often much more stoic and by the time you realize they are ill it can be too late in some cases)

Overall I really like this litter and will be changing to using it over what I had previously used. Considering how long the product lasts, that it doesn't have to be changed as often, there is less mess and odor and we have the added peace of mind of knowing the health of our cats, it really is worth the money in so very many ways. This product has made a believer out of me!

Works Great in Automatic Litter Box & Excellent Value

We’ve been using this litter in our automatic litter box, and it has worked perfectly with no issues. The crystals are lightweight and absorb well, and the low-dust aspect is noticeable compared to some other litters we’ve tried.

One of the main reasons I wanted to try this was the health-monitoring feature. I’ve seen similar litters at a much higher price point, so I was curious how this would compare. While I can’t personally verify the accuracy of the health detection over time yet, it does appear to function similarly to those more expensive options, which makes this feel like a great value.

Odor control has also been solid so far, and it stays relatively clean-looking with regular maintenance.

Overall, if you’re interested in trying a health-monitoring litter without paying premium brand prices, this is a great alternative—especially if you’re using an automatic litter box.

Great Litter with Early UTI Detection

Having a 12-year-old cat means I pay much closer attention to anything related to urinary health, litter box habits, and early warning signs of problems. That was the main reason I ordered the LMJP Health Monitoring Cat Litter, and after using it for the last two weeks, I’m genuinely pleased with how well it performs.

My older cat had no issues adjusting to the new crystal litter at all, which was one of my biggest concerns. He stepped right in and used it normally from day one. I specifically chose the non-clumping, low-dust micro silica crystals because of the color-changing health monitoring feature and the promise of less dust and tracking around the house.

So far, the urine color has remained normal (dark yellow), which gives me peace of mind. For anyone with a senior cat, having that simple visual “heads up” for possible urinary issues is incredibly useful before something turns into a costly vet emergency.

Odor control is also excellent. It absorbs quickly, keeps smells down, and the unscented formula is a major plus since I prefer no artificial fragrance masking. Cleanup is easy - just scoop solids, stir, and monitor.

Because of the price, I’ll probably use this alongside my regular litter rather than as a full-time replacement, but as a health-monitoring tool for an older cat, I think it’s absolutely worth keeping on hand.

A very smart product that adds real peace of mind for cat owners.

Helpful if your cat is getting older—especially seniors.

What a relief to know that my cat's baseline is olive green (normal)...

I love that I can see my cat's metabolic/pH state from the color her urine turns the litter. Her baseline is in the normal range, which is a sigh of relief. And she seems to be unphased by the change to this litter (versus the regular silica gel litter without metabolic reagents added).

The photo that I include with this review highlights the appearance of the litter in the litter box and up-close. The silica gel pieces are small, but they work just as well as larger sized silica gel litter. There was no detectable odor/scent when I opened the bag, and no observable dust (when the cat used the litter box). The storage bags are supposed to be resealable, but I couldn't get the zipper lock to close. I don't care about the bags, but I do care about my cat's health. Yes, I would recommend this product, with a 5-Star quality rating.
